Hi, My name is Laire Harris (Angela    I got into the drama ministry after receiving a phone call from the director, Nicole Newman-Colter, asking me to play the lead role, Angela Palmer (Cinderella). At first I was a little scared because I never acted before, but then I had to stop and tell myself “I can do this” and accepted it and was honored to take the role. My experience so far is great! I love coming together and working as a team.

I got involved with the TGB Drama Ministry  because that is something I always wanted to do since I was in high school but always was afraid to try out so I kept telling Buddy and Shawn that I wanted to tryout but I was still trying to find a way to back out. Then I remembered that the spirit of fear is not of God but of power and a sound mind so I gave it a shot. I really didn’t know how much hard work goes into a play not only from the cast but also from the directors, stage crew, wardrobe, makeup, camera crew, music and etc it was mind blowing.  David Scott (John)

symphonyI was excited to to hear that TGB was starting a drama ministry and since drama has always caught my attention I decided to try out. Luckily I was offered a part and gladly excepted. I love to act and become someone different and dress up in clothes I would never wear in public, I think it’s a lot of fun. My experience so far has been great, we all get along and have a good time while rehearsing as we get closer to the date. This ministry is truly a blessing!  Symphony Samuel (Rebecca)

I’m Shawn Moye  (Mario) and I became interested in the TGB drama ministry because acting in church and theater plays is something I had done in the past. I have had an awesome experience thus far, and being asked to take on more is allowing me to learn more about what goes on behind scenes.

I became interested in the drama ministry because I thought it would be a different aspect then singing in the choir and on the kids club committee. My experience thus far in the drama ministry I can say is that I am really enjoying the ministry. It is a lot of work and many people may not realize it and I do not take this ministry for granted.   Whitney Reed (Tiffany)

My name is Gregory Terry (Jeremy).  It’s funny how I became a member of the drama ministry. 3 weeks before one of our 1st stage productions I was asked to be a stand in for someone who was ill and couldn’t fulfill their role. I never saw myself as much of an actor, but being apart of the drama ministry has allowed me to tap into a talent I really didn’t know I had and share a ministry with a great group of people who are passionate about God and Ministry. I don’t claim to be the best actor, but the best thing about being a part of the drama ministry is the unity and camaraderie we have, and how we use that to bless people lives, and leave long lasting memories and impressions.

I’m David Jr. (Jon Jon) and I went out for drama ministry after reading my dad’s script and seeing that there was going to be a kid in the play and thought that was very interesting. I have learned that being in a play takes a lot of hard work.

I became interested in the Drama Ministry after seeing the play Katrina.  I was extremely impressed by how the actors ministered in the play that it sparked and reminded me of my passion for acting.  I had the pleasure of acting in two plays and look forward to what God has purposed for me in the Drama Ministry at the Temple of Greater Beth-El.       Christe Marshall (Linda)

I was interested in trying out for the play because I always wanted to do plays in high school but never actually pursued it.  I was kind of nervous about doing the play because  most people at the church don’t know me to be very talkative…lol    I’m grateful that Nicole gave me the opportunity to try out and become a part of this play because.   I learned so much from different people in the drama ministry.     The play has taught me that no matter what you go through with family, friends or life, if you keep God in your life, He will make a  way.   !Be Blessed! Teneca Ford (Janice) It’s interesting to became a part of the drama ministry just two weeks before show time.   I was asked to stand in for someone who couldn’t fulfill their part.  I always knew I had a taste of Hollywood in my system!  This is going to be fun acting as someone else. I went in deep to play this character. I watched plays just to get the feel of acting. I want to give a shout out to my childhood friend, Nicole Newman-Colter, writer and director, for considering me to be a part of the ministry. I know this will be a great experience for me; this is going to be a great play

I got involved with the drama ministry because I have always wanted to act.  My experience thus far on the Drama Team – I absolutely LOVE IT!!  So far, I’ve enjoyed the characters that I’ve been given.  I like to really pay attention to how I present my character because I really want to do the best job that I can.  Also, the chemistry with the cast members seems to be really jelling for me on stage as well as off.    Rhonda Jean Hollis (Netta)

Watching my mom in church plays and performing her puppet ministry inspired me to join the Drama Ministry.  The benefits have been more than I ever expected in that I’ve met some really great people and have grown close to many of them.   I love being on the Drama Ministry team.   Austen Davis (Joe)

My name is Roberta .  I became interested in acting because by nature, I’m a shy person and acting allows me to come out of my shell. I had always wanted to be apart of TGB’s drama ministry ever since they first announced it and I was just glad to be able to help out with previous plays. But now I’m actually able to participate by playing a part in the play. I’m so excited and thankful for the opportunity and it’s been wonderful. I feel bleesed.

    Praise the Lord!

Would love to see the live production, but our women’s group will be at our retreat up in the mountains, at Bonito Park, NM.

Please bring copies to the council for us to buy!

  2. S. Washington Says:

Praise the Lord! I purchased a dvd of your play from my cousin, Sis. Causey as she stood waving them at the door, as we were leaving service the last night of the MSC in El Paso, Texas. Finally, this week, Carmalisa and I kicked back in the den and enjoyed the play. Carm expressed that the characters were believable and played their parts well.
You all worked hard but it seemed you also had so much fun.
This is a great healthy way to come together and use God given talents. God gives gifts to us for us. He has given us each other. Using gifts is a way to get to know each other. Also gives us something to do while we wait for Christs return. The word tells us to “occupy” until he comes. God blesses us to be a blessing in the kingdom of God. So many talents were used in the play. Song and Dance as well as other performances. The special appearance of Mr. Jackson, who knew the real Mr. J. would soon be gone. What a coincidence that character was used.
You all be encouraged to keep on keeping on. Keep on writing Nicole. You are a blessing to the body of Christ.
    Our love and Prayers,
Lady S. and Carmalisa Washington, Bethlehem Temple Inc., El Paso, Texas
